In his recent article on ‘Business as a foreign language’ Tony Dunk explored the contention that for a community that prides itself on flexibility of communication, the NLP community has singularly failed to break into business in any meaningful way.
In his talk Tony will examine the evidence that suggests that the NLP community is ill-equipped, in terms of credibility with most business decision makers. He will offer arguments to show that the community is not best served by those providing education in NLP, nor is it well served by professional associations.
It is easy to criticise so Tony will offer some real life examples of how NLP can be brought into commercial organisations to produce real business benefit. It demands a real understanding of commercial issues and a preparedness to take a crash course in understanding the language of business too – but any reasonably focused NLP qualified person should be able to do it.
From the examples Tony will extract some more general principles that you should be able to use in everyday application.
Tony Dunk is Principal of cdadevelop (www.cdaperform.co.uk) and is a Master Practitioner of NLP. Tony will be accompanied by his colleague Lisa Michelangeli who is a business psychologist.
