April - Get The Sales Edge with Gavin Ingham

Do you sometimes lack the sales energy and drive that you would like? Do you know you can achieve more but rarely do? Do you sometimes lose confidence, motivation and focus under the pressure of day to day challenges?

Would you like to be able to make more client contacts, build stronger relationships, develop stronger needs, negotiate higher revenues and close more business?

If the answer to any of these is "Yes"  then come to this evening's session with sales guru and leading speaker Gavin Ingham. This powerful evening will help you in taking responsibility for your own success and propelling yourself to take massive action every day.

Gavin says:

"When I ask sales directors,

What makes a great salesperson within your business?

They use words like & dynamic, passionate, driven, "can-do", tenacious, persistent, goal-oriented, business savvy, commercially minded &

What is common about these words is that most of them are attitudes not skills. On average 80% attitudes in fact. We all have people on our teams who could do better but choose not to for a variety of reasons, or people who have low skill levels but manage to become top performers very quickly due to their excellent attitudes. This is because of the all-elusive attitudinal mindset component that is essential for sales success.

Fact: Attitude represents your ability to access your skills."

About the speaker:

For the last 10 years, Gavin Ingham has been helping sales people to explode their sales performance by turning self-doubt, fear and lack of motivation into self-belief, confidence and action. With his inspirational approach to sales performance and motivation Gavin combines commercial experience, personal excellence and communications technologies in delivering personal and business sales success.

From the despair of losing 18 deals in a row to the triumph of his first major deal; this compelling roller-coaster journey to success uniquely qualifies Gavin as an expert in how to maximise sales performance under intense competition. His unique and inspirational perspective and the way he shares it truly demonstrates the power of the individual over external events such as competition, tough markets and personal circumstances.

A personal recommendation from Andy Smith:

I have known Gavin for a number of years and am very impressed by his energy and integrity. I have seen him in action enthusing an audience of sales people, and also making a real difference with a very different audience when he guested on my NLP Master Practitioner programme a couple of years ago.

Even if you don't think of yourself as a sales person, I am confident you will be thinking of sales in a different way after this evening. See you there!

June - Social Phobic or 'Reluctant' Networker? with Joan Callaghan

Joan CallaghanNetworking is professed to be the way forward in increasing your business. 'Learn How to Network' courses, networking events and networking 'clubs' have mushroomed over the past few years.  'You too can increase your business / social circle - let us show you how in 4/5/6/7 easy steps'

Then what happens to the people who 'can't' - those who come away feeling very despondent because 'it's just not them to do that kind of thing?' Social phobics and 'reluctant' networkers (same thing in my book) - are they catered for?  According to Carl Jung's theory on personality types / drivers and motivators this will account for around 50% of the world population!

So, how do Social Phobics and 'Reluctant' Networkers do business?  How will you help someone (or yourself) in this position?

This fun, interactive presentation from Joan Callaghan may be the answer to that. Joan is an ex psychiatric nurse who has studied with psychologists and who has great business acumen.  She is a business skills coach with a particular interest in social phobia and networking - delivering presentation skills courses to the very knock kneed!!!  Joan is also an NLP practitioner and National Phobics Society registered therapist.

Come and see what makes the difference between those that can and those that think they 'can't'.  Leave with tools and techniques that Joan uses effectively on a day by day basis.

Joan's web site is at www.joancallaghan.com.

5 July - Dealing With The Angry Customer with Adam Sargant

He has had the opportunity to generalise his experience, having worked in a number of different fields in the service sector as well as running several succesful businesses, and now wants to share the fruits of that experience with you.

Expect to learn something about:

- your own beliefs and values related to anger aggression and
violence,

- the use of rapport skills under pressure,

- personal safety awareness

August - How To Change Your Team's Emotional Climate with Andy
Smith

Studies show that a positive 'emotional climate' in teams and organisations has a direct impact on the results they get. Emotional intelligence coach and NLP trainer Andy Smith will show you how you can have a positive influence on the climate in your team - even if your official job description is not 'boss'.

In this meeting you can learn how to use Goleman's "4 Quadrant" model of EI to bring emotional intelligence to bear on any problem. So why not bring a real-life work situation that you would like to resolve?

Andy runs NLP Foundation Skills, NLP Practitioner and Master Practitioner trainings in Manchester and carries out emotional intelligence assessment, coaching and training within organisations. Clients include Lancashire County Council, Manchester Royal Infirmary, BP, and the Cabinet Office.

September - The Authentic Self with Ken Buist

Booking your place at this month's meeting gave you the
opportunity to take Ken's illuminating Personal Transformation
Character Assessment online at no additional charge.

You have a view of yourself today which has been formed and reinforced over your life to date. That view is your 'self-concept' and may be accurate or inaccurate, determining whether you present an 'authentic' or a 'fictitious' self to the world around you. Most people do not set out to present a fictitious persona to the world, but you will react, interact and respond to other people and circumstances according to the self-concept you have at that time.

Ken's message sets out to reveal 'The Authentic Self', not just the 'outer self' we reveal to the world but also the 'inner self' wherein is located our passion as well as our character which shapes our reputation and ultimately our destiny.

Through a process of revelation and interaction, Ken reveals how individual transformation can take place, releasing people from unreal and unrealistic expectations, to a place of Purpose, Passion & Potential.

Those attending will leave better equipped and envisioned to attain that potential:
All you can do but have not yet done!
All you can be but have not yet become!
How far you can reach but have not yet reached!
What you can accomplish but have not yet accomplished!

Ken's web site is at www.personal-transformation.com.

Ken Buist is the CEO of Personal Transformation Ltd - Leaders in Human Resource Transformation, with offices in the UK, USA & Australia. He is also the founder & head of The Trusted AdviserT, a community of coaches & consultants, who are dedicated to releasing people from the place of mediocrity, in order to reach the greater dimension of fulfilled potential.

Ken is a published author on the topics of 'Behavioural
Transformation', 'Character & Emotional Maturity', 'Charismatic Leadership', and 'Transformational Coaching.'

October - Using Metaprograms To Enhance Business Communication
with Peter McNab

We are bombarded with millions of bits of information at any one time. We cannot process all of this information; we have to make choices about which information to utilise and act upon.  One of the ways in which we make these differentiations is through Metaprograms which are the unconscious filters that we use to sift our experiences.

In this evening presentation Peter will be sharing material that he has introduced into a number of organisations including Accenture, British Telecom, TDG, Accor, Alpha Flight Services, Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Strategic Health Authority & the North West Post Graduate Deanery. The presentation is designed so that participants will be able to take away practical skills that they will be able to use the next day in their work.

Peter's presentations are best known for their humour and humanity. He presents the material in a simple way that enables people to make links into their personal and business lives.

Peter's NLP institute, excellenceforall, introduced NLP to the north west of England in the early nineties.

He is the only certified Core Transformation trainer outside the US and is one of only three people to be personally certified as an NLP trainer by Connirae & Steve Andreas. He has also trained with John Seymour & Joseph O'Connor and assisted Robert Dilts. He has taught NLP on four continents in over a dozen countries. He is also a founder member of Ken Wilber's Integral Institute.

Peter is also the author of 'Towards An Integral Vision: Using NLP & Ken Wilber's AQAL Model To Enhance Communication' with a preface by Ken Wilber.

November - Executive Coaching with Derek Jackson

Finding ways of improving anything you choose is a life process well worth learning. Being able to coach others to do this is a gift to give.

Coaching so often only addresses the level of performance, focusing on what isn't working, with the desire to fix what's wrong.  This approach tends to ignore the wider system around the performance.  So often the management, direction and overall coordination of the performance is overlooked, which can generate a range of options to enhance and improve behaviours.

This workshop will introduce a framework to take Coaching to these higher levels.  Here you can learn how to improve anything you set your mind to, and be able to coach others to do the same.  Using a future based approach, you can distinguish and capture the different new behaviours to develop without the need to go back and fix old ones.  More importantly, with this mindset and framework, you can continue to self improve, independent of anyone else.

DEREK JACKSON

Derek has spent most of his working life as a training consultant fascinated with systems - systems within organisations, teams and within individuals.  In a past life, he was a clockmaker!  When he heard that NLP was the study of the structure of experience, he was hooked.

His involvement in NLP and modelling has greatly expanded this understanding and his ability to describe the dynamics involved.  As a result he has been able to combine his NLP learning with the accrued wisdom of our contemporary systems thinkers.

Derek is co-founder of The Northern School of NLP and The Professional Guild of NLP.

December - Leadership Values and Behaviours - Jane Douglas and Darren Anglesea

Research clearly shows that effective leaders behave ‘effectively’ because they inspire a clear vision. They know what they stand for, have personal credibility and ‘walk the walk.’ They confidently and clearly communicate their message and then trust and enable others to do the job they are paid to do. They set an inspiring example and have the courage to take calculated risks….and they celebrate and congratulate when things go well.

In other words effective leaders are effective because of who they are, as much as for what they do!

During the evening we invite you to dip in and explore the possibility that, with the right tools, the characteristics displayed by leaders and managers can be learnt, and they can be learnt by ordinary people in ordinary organisations….discover how leadership is a set of behaviours and relationships, underpinned by specific person beliefs and values.

Jane and Darren are co-directors of Learning to Inspire Ltd a consulting and training firm with an excellent reputation in designing and delivering, leadership development, train the trainer, and personal development seminars. The company aims to make a positive difference in the world through the strands of Leading Learning and Living.

Their vision, they say, is simple - to help chosen clients to realise theirs.
The company says it is passionate about enjoying work and making a real difference to businesses, communities and individuals. According to Jane and Darren at the heart of their work is the desire to develop a person’s capacity to learn and grow in such a way that they continue learning long after a course ends. Why? Because they believe for the business that is serious about success in the 21st century, learning, is the only real competitive advantage to becoming more efficient, increasing retention of good staff and profitability.

"Thanks for a great evening last night. I really enjoyed Joan's session and meeting interesting people"
- Sue Beever, transformational coach

"Adam Sargant crammed what is normally a full day’s worth of material into a couple of hours and I came away with much more awareness of how my own beliefs and values related to anger, aggression and violence in and out of the workplace.

We also covered the physiology and psychology of anger, the use of rapport skills and personal safety awareness. Very useful evening and I will be able to apply some of this stuff."
